About Union Street PlayersCommunity Theatre in Pella, Iowa
Union Street Players community theatre was founded on January 27, 1989, in Pella, Iowa.
For over three decades, we’ve been providing a stage for local talent to shine, offering a wide variety of high-quality performances that captivate and inspire. Our mission is to provide an opportunity to perform for those persons interested in live theatre and to enhance the growth of fine arts in the community of Pella, Iowa.

Each season, USP presents an exciting range of productions that entertain and connect with audiences. From beloved classics like The Mousetrap to new family favorites like Elf, we are committed to excellence in every performance, including youth-focused shows like Tom Sawyer. As the leading community theater in Pella, Iowa, we aim to provide something for everyone to enjoy.
Summer Drama Camp
USP is proud to offer Drama Camp, where students entering grades 1-9 can immerse themselves in the world of theatre! This week-long summer camp covers everything from acting and improv to set design and scriptwriting, culminating in a live performance. It’s an incredible way for your child to build confidence, teamwork, and creativity while getting hands-on experience in theatre!

The Union Street Players Board of Directors takes great pride in bringing community theatre to Pella, Iowa. Elected each August, this dedicated team of volunteers shares a deep commitment to nurturing the arts and ensuring the continued success of Union Street Players.
Costume Shop
Costumes provided by Dottie’s Attic are a fantastic resource not only for Union Street Player productions, but also for surrounding communities! Volunteers work tirelessly to manage and maintain the shop, ensuring that all productions – and your project – look their very best. They are open by appointment, and offer costumes for:

Each year, Union Street Players (USP) produces three major shows, offering a mix of classic plays, family favorites, and new productions that engage the entire community. But that’s not all! Throughout the year, we host a variety of exciting events, including our popular “Pella’s Got Talent” show, interactive Murder Mystery Dinners, and our very own annual awards celebration, The USPYs.
